Pinole, CA (PRWEB) 15 April 2009 -- Two specialized Spanish language courses at the Maria Oliveira Language Learning Center (https://marialanguages.com) have been approved for accreditation: Spanish for Nurses and Healthcare Professionals by the California Board of Registered Nurses, and Spanish for Social Service Professionals by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Each course offers twelve hours professional certification.
Spanish for Nurses and Healthcare Providers is an intensive course designed to enhance effective communication between health care providers and patients. Emphasis is on basic, practical language needed to gather information from the patient or the family at the doctor’s office, the hospital, on the phone or at the patient’s home. New class dates and time available here. Cost of the course and materials is $225.00. Certification for twelve hours is an additional $25.00.
Spanish for Social Service Professionals includes phrases, vocabulary and questions to use for more productive interviews, and to assist in screening clients to determine needs and eligibility. New class dates are now available. The cost of the course and materials is $225.00. Certification for twelve hours is an additional $35.00.
Besides the specialized courses, the Language Learning Center offers classes in Spanish and Portuguese for adult learners in a variety of formats. Small group classed meet for six weekly sessions with a defined syllabus. On-going classes proceed at a rate determined by the group itself. Private sessions are also available. The cost of classes ranges from $115.00 to $225.00. Instructional materials may be purchased at the Learning Center.
